What We Did during Your Summer Vacation
The Linderman Library dedication took place on May 17th, and
it is now open for the first full semester, the same hours
as Fairchild, with many classes scheduled to meet in
its new seminar rooms. Computer sites have been upgraded
with 192 new machines in many buildings: Drown, Fairchild
Martindale Library, Iacocca, Maginnes, Mohler, Saucon
Village, and Williams. Significant technology upgrades took
place in 10 classrooms located in Coppee, Fritz, Iacocca,
Mohler, Packard, Rauch, and Williams. LTS has been busy with
many other projects over the summer as well: installing the
new mail server, planning seminars to introduce Microsoft
Office 2007, and implementing the LU-ALERT initiative.
In this issue you can read about the newest digital site,
Beyond Steel, a project that has garnered three external
grants. Launching this site is a great way to introduce you
to the newly named location of the Digital Library Team: The
S. Murray Rust Jr. Digital Scholarship Center, one of many
gifts that continue to come in for the Linderman Library
renovation and the Shine Forever campaign.
