Portz Named Director of Distance Education and Summer
Sessions
As of February 1st Margaret (Peg) Portz assumed the position
of Director of Distance Education and Summer Sessions. Portz
has served as Interim Director since the retirement of Jim
Brown in January 2007; prior to that she held the position
of Distance Education Manager since the mid-90s.
Vice Provost for Library and Technology Services Bruce
Taggart noted that “Peg’s intimate knowledge of program,
technical, and financial operations and her ability to work
successfully with constituents on campus and clients off
campus provides excellent background. She has done an
outstanding job during these last two years.”
